The oldest known photograph of Wollaston Hall

Henry Onions Firmstone bought Wollaston Hall on 29 September 1859, and the his family owned it for exactly 40 years. This is the oldest known photograph of the Hall, which was taken during the Firmstone’s time there. For once it shows the Hall without the distorted perspective often applied to it by artists.

Very Interesting to know that this was the first known photograph of Wollaston Hall taken during the occupancy of the Firmstone family as I am a descendant of Henry Onions Firmstone, now living in New Zealand.  So thank you Dr Paul Collins.
