Harvest Time

1920s

High Park Farm, comprising some 63 acres, was owned by the Whitmore family and is the land which lies between High Park Avenue and Studley Gate.  It includes a road named after the owners, Whitmore Road.  The last harvest was in 1926 and after the death of Joseph Whitmore in that year the land was sold to Stourbridge Council for £9,600.  Building plans for 292 houses were approved in November. 1927
