This is a copy of an entry in the Girls’ School log-book, dated 1923.

1920s

In 1923 the head mistress of the Girls’ School received a letter from Worcestershire Education Committee instructing the schools to change the writing style in the schools.  Ada Aughtie wrote this comment in the log-book and it is interesting that her hand writing changed half way through her account of the changes.  The ordinary script writing was to be taught to the infants but a return to cursive writing was to be used with the older girls.
