Wollaston Hall from High Street, 1920

1920s

The sales particulars for the 5 July 1920 Wollaston Hall Estate land sale included this picture taken across High Street from near the corner of Vicarage Road. The poles and wires of the Kinver Light Railway can be seen, and, through a gap in the trees, the Hall itself can be glimpsed.

I am one of the decendants of Henry Onions Firmstone, who lived at Wollaston Hall for forty years to the 1890’s. Having recently visited the area I should be interested to hear from anyone with knowledge of where the family moved to.

R Firmstone -

It’s been 6 years since you left a comment so this is a long shot but did you find out any further information? I am also a descendant of H.O.Firmstone he was my GG Grandfather, Thomas was my G Grandfather and Daphne (Dash) was my Grandmother. Be great to hear from you I have quite a few family photos.
