A school outing

1900s

The photograph was taken of the children in front of the schools just about to set off on an outing.  The year must have been after 1901 as that was the date when the Kinver Light Railway opened and the tram lines are visible in the front of the picture. The vehicles carrying the children were often referred to as brakes in the school log-books.  The houses in the background are those on the corner of King Street. 
The outings were held most years and went to places like Kinver or Clent.
