The Retirement of J.E.  Porter, headmaster of the Junior School.

1970s

Jack Porter had first joined the staff of the Junior School in 1959.  He was appointed deputy headteacher in 1969 and followed Percy Troughton as headteacher in 1974.  A farewell party was held for him organised by the P.T.A.  In the photograph members of the P.T.A. committee are: Sue Harris (left); Peter Hodnett and Yvonne Bridge (right).  He moved from his home in Stourton to live in Gladstone Road after he retired.
Jack had a long retirement and died in 2010.
