A poster advertising Wollaston Schools which opened on 28th February 1859

In 1859 the new schools opened in Wollaston, offering education for children in three departments for infants, boys and girls.  The poster named two of the head teachers, the cost for different levels of teaching and the hours of opening.  William Orme Foster, the local iron master, gave the money to build the schools and a house for the headmaster of the Boys’ School.
